Ive had my guinea pig for about 5 months and im thinking about getting another one?

I got her from a pet store but i got her before they put her out in the store with all of the other guinea pigs. I just think that she gets lonely a lot. She’s pretty calm and very friendly to me and other people. Does anyone know if it’s too late to get another one to put in the same cage?

handling a skittish guinea pig?

i’ve had my guinea pig for a few months, and she is fairly skittish (probably because i know she wasn’t handled much in the pet store when she was younger) but she’s gotten to the point where when i’m entering the room, i say hi to her and she sticks her head out of her igloo and squeeks at me and when i stick my hand into her cage she walks over and sniffs at it or takes the treat out of my hand.

she has a sort of small cage and i want her to be able to get out and get more excercise than just doing zoomies around her cage, so what is an easy/safe way to pick up a guinea pig without them running away?

Is it okay to have a fan on at night with my guniea pig?

I have recently purchsed a guniea pig, she is lovely, :]. Although i got her at a pet store two weeks ago, and the poor thing has already over come an eye infection, and now she just got her first shot of two today for mites. :[
ANYWAYS, i wanted to know if it is bad to have a fan on in my room with her at night? its not directed at her, but i want it to help keep the nice cool air curculating. thanks so much :]
Also, at night, in cover her cage, but not all the way, with a small blanket, and she has her little pigloo, she loves that thing, she is in there all the time :] except when its veggy time! lol

Anyone know anything about buying guinea pigs?

because my friend said he’d buy me one. and i know i shouldn’t buy one from a pet store. so, i live near Birmingham and i was wondering if anyone knew a place i could adopt one or if they had an idea. ;P AND I WANT A LONG HAIRED GUINEA PIG xD!

How to convince my parents to get me two Guinea Pigs?

I’ve been researching them for MONTHS, I’ve written a 7-page report, my birthday’s 3 months away and they’re still not sure.
I went to a pet store and looked at all the prices, I bought a Guinea Pig book, I’m looking for cubes for the C & C cage I’m going to make (if I ever get two Guinea Pigs!)
They said the two main factors are:

1. My autistic sister (who likes to pick up stuff then drop them, squeeze animals until they can’t breath, and she REALLY likes to go into my bedroom, where I’ll keep the Guinea Pigs. They won’t let me get a lock for my door.)
2. They think THEY’LL take care of the Guinea Pigs. No way! They practically KILLED the last 7 fish we had. The result? *fluuuush*

So because of number 2 (which I’ve tried to convince them SEVERAL weeks that they won’t do), they want me to show a habit (MONTHS) of a) keeping my room clean, b) making sure that I’ll clean up any mess my sister leaves in my room, c) doing all my homework (I got Straight A’s on my last report card! Yay!), and d) being nice.

I’m not even sure that they’ll get me 2 on my birthday! They won’t tell me how long, because they want me to have a commitment. I do, but I’m getting impatient (I’ve been doing this for a month now, and it’s not fun! :P)
Thanks for reading this- but is there ANY WAY TO HELP THEM GET ME TWO GUINEA PIGS SOONER? Sooner than when? I don’t know x_X

P.S. I’m homeschooled, so there’s not, “Ohh, boo-hoo! I know I said I’d take care of it but I have to go to school! Oh NO! Wah- Ok, have fun! *ditches parents*”

And I CAN’T take two home and hide them… That’s just cruel.
… I wonder if I can hypnotize them into thinking “Ohh she’s so reponsible, let’s do it!”… Naah!
My dad’s fine with paying the vet bills, and he’s fine with the idea of me getting two guinea pigs, he just wants me to have a habit of taking care of them that’s all. :) P.S. It’ll be my 12th birthday.. (I know I’m too young for this, but my dad already exposed me to too many swear words and “the talk” that I’m not just “a little kid” anymore… LOL)
Darn… “to THIS” meaning YA!
I really should proof-read my details…
Oh and I already KNOW of a way to keep my sister away from them.

A lock on the cage! And the cage would be glued to something so she can’t pick it up and throw it somewhere! *smirks triumphantly*
…. and my dad says now, every time I start talking, he makes me stop and asks, “Is this going to be about Guinea Pigs?” Me: yes…
“Then I’m going… Over there. *runs*”
I already did, weeks ago. And still am. 7 page report, printed out several Vitamin C charts and daily (morning, noon, night) chores for them.

I didn’t really mean “glued on to something” since the Guinea Pigs could eat the glue and die from poison or something, probably… so maybe another lock would be sufficient LOL!

Need breeder in PA pennsylvania?

Hi im michelle. well i’m allergic to guinea pigs. though i really want one. well i am a;;owed to get a hairless one. 2 years ago they were at petsmart all the time. now i called every pet store in PA and they all say they don’t have any. so don’t say go to a pet store. i need a breeder. i went on petfinder.com and it said no one is breeeding them. so please if you are a breeder or know a breeder or someone that is wanting to give one up please notifye me with a name and number. I want the breed is called a baldwin or a skinny. so please help i have everything already just need the piggy!!! thankyou

How do you know when a guinea pigs pregnant?

I just bought a guinea pig at a pet store about a week and a half ago and I think that she may be pregnant but I’m not sure. How can you tell? What are symptoms of a pregnant guinea pig?

I have 2 Guinea Pig questions! please help:)?

hello i have had a male guinea pig named pringle since april of this year. i bought him from a pet store because i have owned a guinea pig before and i just felt bad because he was all alone in the cage. i just adopted 2 young male guinea pigs, so pringle can have some friends. (their names are chocolate and squeeks) anyways, i introduced them all slowly..well the 2 guinea pigs that i adopted today were already living together in one cage, so they already knew eachother, but my guinea pig just started sniffing them. they were doing it back, and then they started doing a hump fest! everyone was trying to hump everyone, and i had to take my guinea pig (the bigger one) out because he was just getting too rough (he was running over them!!!) but i kept putting him back in so they can get acquainted. chocolate then started humping pringles face, and all of a sudden i heard a loud squeek. he got off and there was blood coming from his thing. oh my i was scared. he was bleeding! the bleeding did stop though after like 5 minutes. but will that little nibble affect him? i hope hes not going to get sick from like an infection. everything looks fine, but i love guinea pigs, so i kind of want to play it safe. and my last question is that, ive been watching them closely and i put them all in one cage. they are actually now sharing their water bottle and food dish, and they are all talking in there. but my guinea pig pringle, kind of chatters sometimes. that means hes not happy with something, but as of right now, they are all talking to eachother. when will they all feel comfortable for eachother? they seem fine right now…but i dont want to wait for something bad to happen.

Guinea Pigs.hellpppp meeee?

Ok so I just bought two 2 month guinea pigs, Tigger and Banana. They’re both male, and I know they’re OK because they’ve lived in the same cage together for their whole lives. I went to the pet store a couple days ago to buy them and for now I have too small of a cage because I’m getting the right size one in like, three days. They were very nice to each other before but now they keep snapping at each other and I don’t know why. They were totally civil before this morning.
First, they share a food bowl (the pet store thought this was OK). Tigger was eating out of it and Banana tried to eat out of it and Tigger got mad at snapped at him and Banana ran away. Then I took them both out to play with them because the pet store said I should do that because they’re in such a confined area and you’re supposed to play with them anyway. They were obviously scared of me because I’m new to them but whenever Banana would try to snuggle with Tigger, Tigger would snap at him. Then I decided to put them back in their cage and Banana went in the igloo and Tigger tried running in there and Banana snapped at him so he could be alone.
I’m just really really really confused. I know they’re not supposed to feel safe with me yet because they think I’m going to eat them or something but I just want to know why they’re getting so vicious with each other.
Also, Tigger keeps chattering his teeth. It’s weird.

Another thing is I want to know if the little noises they make are good or bad because they make them when I pet them so they could either be happy or terrified.
