Why is ‘Lord of the Flies’ called ‘Lord of the Flies’?

I really don’t understand the whole title thing and I don’t get the pig’s head on a stick part either. It just has nothing to do with the rest of the story! If anyone can explain any of this to me I would be very grateful! x

i am not good at english
so i cant understand the book…
help me to answer this question

1.What internal conflict(s) is jack facing that has him obsessed with killing a pig?

2.the boys begin to like Ralph more and respect him. why?

3.discuss the relationship between ralph and jack.

4.what 2 things are most important to piggy? why? are they important?

5.who is not accounted for at the end of the story? why? isn’t anyone concerned about him?

Could someone explain lord of the flies?

im reading the book lord of the flies by golding (lord of the flies is the murdered pig’s head on a stick with flies around it? “talking” to the kid), and i thought that it was equivalent to the beast in man’s nature?, the devil?, also i heard that lord of the flies is the english translation of the semetic Beezelbub? is that another name for satan, like lucifer?

Like… what does he symbolize? What kind of person? For example.. Piggy symbolizes more or less a scientist I would say; so what would Ralph represent?
