Ive had my guinea pig for about 5 months and im thinking about getting another one?

I got her from a pet store but i got her before they put her out in the store with all of the other guinea pigs. I just think that she gets lonely a lot. She’s pretty calm and very friendly to me and other people. Does anyone know if it’s too late to get another one to put in the same cage?

How to persuade parents for a guinea pig?

Hi my parents eventually let my have a hamster in september and i adore him. We also have 7 cavalier king charles spaniels but they are really my parents. Anyway I would really love a guinea pig… I dont want to get one till my hamster is at least 1 as I want to spend more time with him on his own. So how do I persuade them and can you give me an idiots guide to looking after guinea pigs. I want he/she to live in my bedroom but Im not sure what cage to get or what to feed it.

How long do guinea pigs have to have mothers milk for?

i purchased a pregnant guinea pig accidentaly,and she had 6 beautiful babies 2 weeks ago. I was going to seperate them at 4 weeks, but have heard i need to seperate them at 3 weeks. But, i think that babies have to have mums milk until 4 weeks of age. Which opinion is right?

make a large playpen for 6-8 hours of the day?
My parents won’t let us have a bigger cage for our 2 guinea pigs because of space. So, I thought of an idea to make a play pen out of that cube stuff people use for c&c cages. I’d make it really large for them to play in for 6-8 hours or more a day, but then put them back into their 7 sq feet cage for the night or whenever we have company and my parents dont want the huge pen up.. Is that an ok idea?

Yeah, I’m planning on playing with them for quite a bit of that time, but also letting them run around.
And I do have a dog, but I’m planning on keeping him out of the room the pen will be in.

how do you make a guinea pig like you?

I have to guinea pigs and they never like to be held or taken out of their cage. When I [or anyone] try to pick them up they squeal and kick away. I try to always feed them at the same time everyday and give them treats. They dont seem to like to be held. I was wondering if i could change that or maybe if I am holding them wrong.

My new guinea pigs won’t eat things other than hay, pellets, and “shop-bought treats”?

Uh huh.
I know I’m not supposed to give them shop-bought treats, but it’s the only thing that they’d eat besides hay and pellets, and I don’t want them to starve!
They won’t eat any greens. I offered them an apple, even. They sniffed it and ran away into their pigloo. I offered them celery and carrots, same thing. *sniff sniff… AHHHHH!!!*
We’re going to buy veggies soon, so we’d have more variety, but I’m afraid that they won’t eat that either.
They refuse to eat ANYTHING other than water, hay, pellets, and treats. Not the small ones, but the ones that they’re supposed to chew for what, a month before it runs out?

They have a BIG c&c cage with some chewing things, two hiding places, a “hay” area, and we’re going to get more than that soon. AK.A. Cozy Cavies so they can survive the cold 
But still, they won’t eat anything. I just got them on Tuesday Night.

Can a guinea pig live in a tank for a week?

I’m getting a new friend, that looks a lot like a Ewok to me hehe..I’m a first time guinea pig owner..Cant wait to get her friday..anyways..my question is can l for one week keep her in a tank? I’m getting a cage from someone for $20 that is big enough and meant for guinea pigs. But thats next week..should she be ok till then?

what does a Syrian Hampster look like? Could a pet store pass it off as a baby guinea pig?

I bought what I thought was a baby guinea pig months ago and it is so little and hasnt grown. Plus I have 2 female full sized guinea pigs and they have both had babies and i find that little thing eating them. I havent caught the mothers having them but they all have been dead and like I said that little thing eats the bodies. Im not sure maybe it killed the babies. Im not sure. What do you think? Someone please help.
I have a picture of it if you would look at it but im new at this and im not sure how to do it.
