Do cats and guinea pigs get along?

I’ve read on a guinea pig society’s website that cats and guinea pigs get along and do not fight. Is this true? If so, how do i introduce them without them fighting?

Is it possible for an adult dog to get along with two cats?

I’m thinking about getting a dog soon, and I want a puppy, but I’m leaning towards rescuing a dog from the shelter (those poor dogs need homes). I already have two cats. My adult cat is a princess and I don’t think she’d appreciate a dog, but my younger cat would probably be indifferent and just want to play with it. Is it possible to get an adult dog that will get along with two cats who already rule the roost? I want a dog sooooooo bad…. I just love animals so much.

Is it OK for my cat to eat ham/bacon?

I have a 4 month old kitten, he’s well, active and a good eater. I’m trying to introduce him to different types of food (in very small portions and in addition to his normal pet food) so that he won’t be ‘fussy’ (and because it’s nice to give them a ‘treat’ everynow and then). I’ve done lots of research and know the foods that are dangerous to cats - onions, chocolate etc. I’ve never read anything about ham, yet my friend says she doesn’t feed her two cats ‘pig based products’ because she read it was bad for them. Incidentally, I gave my kitten a little bit of ham and he LOVED it.

What do you reckon?

Independent Dog Breeds. I want to get a puppy, but I want one that will be okay if left alone during the day

My boyfriend and I work 8 a.m - 5 p.m. jobs, and there will be no one around during the day, so we need a dog that won’t destroy the house or become depressed if left alone for 8-9 hours. I can provide a dog with plenty of attention after work and on weekends. I have two cats that could keep the puppy company, but I doubt the cats will like the puppy, especially at first. I prefer small dogs that are 10-20 pounds maximum. I know that pretty much all puppies need attention. I’m just looking for suggestions on dogs that are more independent than others. I’ve already looked into this online, but found only dogs that need constant attention. I want advice from someone with experience in this area. Please help. Thanks!

Anyone else find it depressing at an animal shelter?

I went today and all the cats were meowing at me and wanting me to pet them. I stayed a while with the cats, I pet them and played around with them. I felt so bad when i left cause all those poor animals were just sitting their and they looked so depressed. I wish i could take a few more animals but i have 6 cats, a dog, a fish, and 6 guinea pigs.

Any ideas on convincing parents to get guinea pigs?

Answers appreaciated a lot! Thanks. Oh, I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 hamster and one lizard. I care for the hamster mainly but I do feed and water the dogs sometimes and the other times is my mom or brother since they are the family pets.

Is raising a cat expensive and hard work?

…If so, what is it that made you go through all of that effort of trying? I can understand that you may love him/her… but still…

I really want a cat, but I’m afraid that I may not be a suitable owner, I had a cat before, but I gave it away to my cousins but they were poor owners and the cat ended up becoming a stray. Maybe it is because of my busy schedule, or somewhat busy anyway.
I find cats expensive to some of the prices that I see online.. ranging from 200-800, even for babies!

I somewhat find them outrageous…. but I guess it may be worth it?

Maybe i should start off with something easy and easier to manage, like a shorthair domestic…
