i like turtles better.
because
first of all they dont make any noises at all. (only when digging through rocks.)
second of all they look cute.
now lets talk about hamsters.
when i look at them for some reason.. they remind me of pigs.
when i had hamsters they made noises every night so “we” could not go to sleep.
female hamster killed the poor male hamster :’( so i ended up killing the female hamster.

I had both. I had about up to 12 hamsters growing up. they are fairly easy to care for. yes they make noises at night but you can always keep him in another room. bedding change once every week to 2 weeks, depending on how dirty it is, and fresh water in the bottle every day. cage can be anything from hamster cages or a 10 gallon tank with proper lid.
I have one turtle and he is a diamond back saltwater turtle. these turtles requires more work than a hamster. you need a heater, filter, constant water change, and needs to be taken out of the water during the day. requires about a 50+ gallon tank. some places allows pets but no tanks with water, like me, I couldn’t take him with us to live in our pet friendly apartment because they don’t allow water-filled fish tanks unless it’s under 5 gallons due to possible leaks.
to me, turtles are cute to look at, not fun to care for (not fun when he’s hungry and hiding and your barefoot). hamsters are fun to care for and are active. my turtle just sits and stares at himself at my mom’s hallway floor length mirror all day long.

I would recommend a hamster. Because they have no nasty smell, they actually rarely make any noises exept when they are on their wheel which you can fix by simply rubbing a bit of vegtable oil on the axle of the wheel. Now no more noise. The only reason the female killed the male is because, you probably bought them at two different times and that means two different litters so they did not know each other from jack. Now turtles, make an okay pet but they are way more expensive, and are a lot more germy than hamsters are. Hamsters wash there face, and clean themselves daily. Turtles mainly just sit in the water and eat. It also takes a lot more responsibility to take care of a turtle than a hamster. With a hamster, you feed him every 2-3 days, give him water every week, clean its cage out every week, and give it love. When a turtle you have to change the smelly water all the time, give it food every day, it cost a lot more, and are pretty much boring. A hamster you can watch it run on its wheel, run through tubes, give it a ball to play in and are much fun, when a turtle just sleeps all day. A hamster is the perfect choice for you.
